Lifelong learning makes you a student of life.
The Bible tells us in Proverbs 11:14: “In the multitude of counsellors, there is safety.” And indeed, there is.
We can then conclude that there’s nothing wrong with learning from different people.
So you can like one speaker for their verbosity. You can like another figure for their exuberance or vitality. You can like yet another figure for how courteous or decent they are. You can also like another for their eloquence, clarity of expression, or just how well they articulate their thoughts.
But be cautioned. Like Jim Rohn would say: “Do not be a follower, be a student.”
Remember, the aim is to grow. So the fact that you’re a fan of John Doe doesn’t mean you can’t disagree with him on some issues. Or that you’re a fan of Jane Doe doesn’t mean you should overlook her quirks. No.
We should master the ability to filter the information that comes to us and process it to arrive at our conclusion to drive our actions. Irrespective of who we’re learning from.
In other words, we must develop our unique thought processes.
To conclude, be a student; not a follower. Learn and draw knowledge and wisdom from different people, but have a mind of your own to apply it as you see fit.
Have a blessed and blissful weekend.
