Have you ever heard the word “hiatus“?
The etymology of Hiatus is Haire, a Latin word. A hiatus means a pause in which nothing happens or a break in the continuity of an activity.
Some people opine that sometimes it’s good to take a hiatus when going through something tough. You know, reorganize yourself and bounce back harder.
But one Sunday after church service, during a discussion about an upcoming program, a friend asked me: “If your left arm is injured, are you going to stop using your legs to work or stop using your right arm until your left arm heals?”
It was a rhetorical question and the point landed strongly without further submissions.
Life can be hard, rough and tough but the world keeps moving regardless of any individual’s peculiar situation.
So, if some aspects of our lives aren’t working, we have to balance the energy by moving on with the ones working while we work on those that are flawed —at the necessary pace.
Else we will lose everything and end up with nothing if we take a hiatus from everything.
I mean, think about it.
Bye,
James.
