We all sometimes hide behind the comfort of excuses.
“I really want to do this thing, but…”
or the popular Ghanaian jargon:
“Dabi dabi ɛbɛyɛ yie” which literally translates to “one day, one day, it will be better.” – For context, this is often a statement of hope that people make but the requisite hard work, is not seen.
Let’s be real. Let’s face it.
You say you want to be a good surgeon or doctor, yet the ONLY surgeon or doctor you know, is the guy from The Good Doctor on Netflix?- don’t get me wrong; I love that movie series.
You can’t also say you want to own one of the biggest clothing lines or shoe brands in the world when you haven’t checked out how the top 1% like Nike, Adidas, Lacoste, etc. are doing it or how they even started.
There are systems of habits that help you revolve around peculiar orbits of success in every field. It’s crucial you find out what the top 1% are doing in your field.
We should be intentional about the people we meet, what we read, what we listen to; every single thing we do.
Just as I wrote this with you in mind.
Let’s be intentional, even about the little inconspicuous and innocuous things.
Hiding behind “the excuses” isn’t worth it because those walls don’t hold for long.
All the best in being intentional in everything- even through this weekend.
